thrifto Terms and Conditions

By renting a space with thrifto ("consignee", we", "us", "our"), you ("consignor", "the Seller") agree to the following Terms & Conditions:

Space Hire & Duration

One rail will have up to 40 x clothing items (including a maximum of 3 x accessories). Accessories will hang from the rented rail.
One hanger is for 1 x item of clothing, sets and suits sold together (as 1 piece) count as 1 item.
One Shoe Spot is for 1 x pair of shoes.
One Lock Spot is for 1 x small item (sunnines, jewellery, purse etc)
A medium shelf is 40cm x 100cm and can be used to display bags, belt, scarves, hats, shoes and jewellery but no clothing items.
A large shelf is 50cm x 100cm and can be used to display bags, belts, scarves, hats, shoes and jewellery but no clothing items.
Hangers, hooks and other display items will be provided by thrifto.
The seller will rent a space in our store for one calendar month (“rental period”).
Spaces may be rented at any time during the calendar month but all rentals end at the end of that specific calendar month.
Sellers will hang, arrange and display their items on their rail or rented space during or after the stack-on session.
Sellers will remove and collect their remaining items from store before or during the stack-off session.
thrifto Will determine the position of the rented space within the store and this may change during the rental period.

Re-stacking and Swapping items

All space rentals have unlimited re-stack allowance.
All space rentals have unlimited swap allowance.
As items are sold, the seller may replace these sold items during the rental period.
The seller may also swap, change or re-price these items as often as they like during the rental period.
Sellers may visit our store to re-stack or swap items during our store hours.

Item Preparation and Price tags

Sellers must prepare and attach price tags to each of their items before bringing them to our store.
Price tags must display the seller's price tag name and selling price of the item.
All price tags must be securely attached to each item.
Items without a price tag attached will not be sold.
Each rail booking includes 40 x price tags and each shelf booking includes 20 x price tags, these can be collected from the store once the booking has been confirmed.
Additional card price tags are available to purchase from thrifto.

Item Quality and Condition

thrifto’s Ethos is to promote sustainable fashion with good quality pre-loved clothing items. We reserve the right to refuse the sale of any stained or damaged items and “fast fashion” brands (ANKO, SHEIN, TEMU etc). These items will be refused during stack-on and removed from the seller's rented space and not be offered for sale in store.

Stack-On & Stack-Off

The Stack-On session (beginning of your rental period) is usually during the morning on the last day of the month prior to the beginning of your rental period, excluding Mondays and Public Holidays.
thrifto Will provide the date & time and detailed instructions of the Stack-On process with your ticket confirmation email.
The Stack-Off session (end of the rental period) is usually in the afternoon of the last day of your rental period, excluding Mondays and Public Holidays.
At or before the Stack-Off session, the seller will scan & collect any remaining unsold items from the rented space.
thrifto Will donate any uncollected items at the close of business on Stack-Off day.
thrifto Will provide the date & time and detailed instructions of the Stack-Off process with your ticket confirmation email.

Authentication

thrifto Does not authenticate designer brands. (i.e. Gucci, Prada, Louis Vuitton, Ralph Lauren etc.).
If the seller elects to sell these brands, it is the seller’s obligation to provide the relevant proof of authenticity with the item.
If the seller cannot provide proof of authenticity, these items must be labelled as "dupe" or "copy".
Sales of counterfeit products are prohibited and will be reported to the authorities should thrifto become aware of this.

Sale Weekend Event

The date of this event will be communicated in the welcome email which is sent to consignees once a booking is made.
The sales price for items sold during this time, will be reduced by a discount percentage selected by the seller in the booking form.
For example, if the price tag is $100 and the seller has selected a discount % of 25%, the price will be reduced to $75 during the Sale Weekend Event.
The selected discount % is applied to all items in the seller's rented space during the Sale Weekend Event.

Sales Updates & Communication

A booking confirmation and Welcome email will be sent once bookings have been confirmed.
Sellers will be invited to join a WhatsApp group for the rental month to receive relevant communications form the store.
Weekly updates of sales will be communicated in the WhatsApp group.
Sellers will receive a mid-month email and end of rental period email detailing number of items sold and total sales amount.

Sales & Payment

thrifto Does not guarantee sales of items, this is determined by the shoppers' demand for the quality and pricing of the items that you choose to sell in your space.
POS refers to the point-of-sale system in the store.
Sales income means any income generated, and as recorded by the POS system operating in the store, in relation to or connection with the items sold from the spaces rented from thrifto.
100% of any sales income (less the payment processing fee of 1.6%), the seller's payout proceeds, will be deposited into the seller’s nominated bank account (as nominated by the seller in the booking form) within 1-7 days after the end of the rental period.
Effective 1 October 2026, following changes to card surcharging rules introduced by the Reserve Bank of Australia, thrifto will no longer apply a surcharge to shopper card payments. To cover the ongoing cost of accepting card payments and the costs associated with accepting cash in store, a payment processing fee of 1.6% will instead be deducted from seller payout proceeds. This fee reflects the actual cost of card acceptance and cash collection and deposits and is separate from, and does not constitute, a sales commission. thrifto Does not take a commission.
thrifto Is selling your items on consignment as your agent and is not responsible for collecting or remitting GST on your behalf.

Theft, Damage and Liabilty

The seller confirms that they are the rightful owner of the items being sold.
thrifto Will provide security tags with all space rentals and these are included in the cost of the rental.
The seller will secure the security tags to their items, as they determine necessary and at their discretion, during the rental period.
The security tags remain the property of thrifto throughout the rental period and must be returned during the stack-off session, at the end of the rental period.
thrifto Takes measures to protect the seller’s items, however, thrifto is not liable for any damage, loss, theft, fire or any other unforeseen incidents.
thrifto Provides fitting room facilities in store and shoppers are permitted to fit & try any of the items for sale in store.
Sellers accept all risks associated with displaying and selling items at thrifto, including but not limited to loss, theft or damage.

Marketing & Promotion

By renting a space, you agree that thrifto may photograph and promote your items on social media, our website, or in marketing materials to promote the thrifto community.

Refunds & Cancellations

Space rental fees are non-refundable once your booking is confirmed.

General Conditions

Space rental bookings are made on the website via www.thrifto.au through a third-party ticket booking system and third-party electronic payments system and are subject to their terms and conditions.
thrifto Reserves the right to terminate or refuse service to any seller who breaches these terms or behaves inappropriately toward staff or customers.
thrifto Reserves the right to update these Terms & Conditions at any time, with the latest version available on our website.
By signing or submitting payment for your space rental, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms & Conditions.
